There were several candidates for this week’s photograph. But since I'm limiting each post to just one, I chose this photograph.
Every day for the past six months I've walked by this plant. And it wasn't until two days ago I saw it for the first time. It's tucked behind some other bushes and after they lost all their foliage, there it was. I looked it up online and this is what I found. It is a Nandina domestica Thunb. Its common name(s) are:
- Nandina
- Heavenly bamboo
- Sacred-bamboo
- Chinese-bamboo
- Southern heaven-bamboo
- Nanten
Its uses are:
- Environmental
- ornamental
- Medicine
- folklore
- Weed
“Tri-X, f/8, and be there.“
